So, Freelance Whales!

Yes, this is where I was last Sunday. It made me very happy as it was a two birds with one stone situation. I went to s gig, by myself. It's all about being self-reliant. If you can live and be happy on your own, well any times you spend with others well, then, there just a bonus. :)

Here's one of their songs, just to get a wee feel for them:

While being in Edinburgh, I was able to catch up with one of my good friends, and then met some of his friends. While they did spend the majority of the time in the pub trying to convince me to move to Edinburgh, I was struck by a saddening thought. There was a time in Dundee when I had a good couple of drinking buddies, but now they have moved away, so no afternoon pub trips :(

If only you could advertise for that in the local paper, but I get the feeling it would bring out the wrong type of applicants.

Back to the gig, or more precisely the band! :D

And don't they look like a nice bunch of people :)

It's Kevin, Judah, Doris, Jacob and Chuck. On a side note, Doris has fantastic style, was loving the shoes she was rocking on stage. The energy on stage was fantastic, and I loved the fact the instruments were being passed between all of them. It was also Kevin's birthday, little bit of knowledge for you there. Took place in the newly done up Liquid Rooms, I can't compare it, but I liked it too :)

And to have a memory of the evening, I swiped this little baby just before I left:

Can't blame a girl eh?

To be fair, the worse part of the evening could have been running to the train station to make the last train home. But a girl has got to make it home for work the next day after all.

On the whole, a bloody great way to spend a day :)

Next gig is on Wednesday, I'm off to see The Feeling :D
